1971 The partnership of Major Macleod and Ken Macintyre establishes the first service centre on the Beaulieu River 1980 The boatyard has a new owner, Allport Holdings Ltd and Mac is appointed its first Managing Director 1982 "Electra" the first BH46 Cruising Ketch is launched. This proves a very popular boat and is shown at the Annapolis Boat Show where it is short listed for "Boat of the Year" 1984 "Cygnet Of Beaulieu" is built for Lord Montagu. This is the first of many Nelson Motor Cruisers completed by the boatyard 1988 Nigel Rickman returns from Canada to take up a position at the yard, shortly to be appointed a Director. 1990 The new NELSON 42 MK II is commissioned by Beaulieu Marine Developments and the plug is built by Bucklers Hard Boat Builders 1992 A Double Year! The first new Nelson 42 Mk II is completed and shown at the Southampton International Boat Show to great acclaim. We also find time to build our first Nelson 29, adding to the range and growing reputation of the yard	1993 Nigel Rickman takes over as Managing Director from the retiring Mac. The ensuing period sees unprecedented growth as turnover increases fivefold 1995 The yard completes a beautiful fit out of an Aquastar Ocean Ranger 43, shown at the Southampton Boat Show and much admired by all 1997 Approaching our first million in turnover, the yard continues to build arguably the finest versions of Nelson Motor Yachts available, and the Yard Services reputation for quality works spreads along the South Coast and even as far as Gibraltar! 1998 For the first time ever, two orders for new Nelson boats are taken at the Southampton Boat Show, following a special boat show preview on Meridian TV 1999 Another first! A new Talisman 49 Motor Yacht is completed, a superb addition to the range offered by Bucklers Hard 2001 We’re looking forward to another exciting 30 years of success, and with it plenty of change and many pleasant surprises. This order came directly from the Southampton Boat Show, proving again what a good show this has been for us. The first set of mouldings by Halamatic will be with us in early January 1999.
