Located at the centre of the South Coast, we have easy access to the whole
of the Solent region.
With over 30 years experience in metal fabrication work, we can offer a
solution to all your fabrication and welding requirements.

SEAWORKS EXHIBITION
in Southampton from 14-16 June 2011 in the Business Enterprise Zone on Stand SB61
New for 2011 we are pleased to announce the creation of a new specialist Marine Fabrication department.
Martin Harris is heading up the department and will be available on the stand to discuss fabrication projects and services as well as displaying examples of our products. We are happy to discuss any project no matter how large or small. Currently we are producing the following products as well as bespoke items to order: • Yacht Cradles • High rise stainless steel exhaust elbows for Sole marine engines • Stainless steel tanks • Bow Rollers • Pull and push pits James Fordham will also be on the stand to discuss general engineering and refit.

BOAT WORLD, BEAULIEU

Come and join us at the Beaulieu Boat Jumble; you will find us in the Boat World section on stand BW 13-16 where we will be exhibiting engines, generators and marine fabrication work. Please feel free to talk to our experienced staff about any work that you require; we would be very happy to see you. There will be a shuttle bus from Beaulieu Marina to the Show; the last one back will be at 6.00 pm.
First lift on new dock!
The first boat has been lifted from the new hoist dock!
After the main works were completed the weather did its best to hold us up but we are now commencing with lifting out boats for Winter Lay Up.

SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW - 10 – 19 September 2010
It’s time again for the Southampton Boat Show, where we will be joining our Sole Diesel Engine importers on Stand D013 in the Windward Hall.

HOIST DOCK AT BUCKLERS HARD
Some of you may have already heard that after years of surveys and deliberation, we are finally able to undertake necessary works to the Boat Lift Out facility.
The dock is going to be replaced and upgraded which will provide lifting facility of 35 tonne and improved access to the dock.
These works will cause an impact on the Boat Movement Schedule and to enable the minimum amount of disruption and to comply with the request of English Nature, the work will commence from 6th September 2010 for 12 weeks.
This will mean that we are unable to lift or launch any vessel after Friday 2nd September until November. The contractors are confident that they will not require the full 12 week period to complete all the works.
The Boat Yard and Chandlery will be open as normal during this period and afloat service and repair work will be undertaken. We will do everything possible to help and assist you in anyway during this timescale, and apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Zeeland
Refurbishment Project Spring 2010
Zeeland arrived here from the Netherlands on the 14 March 2010 and will be moored at Buckler’s Hard Village. She will be in the care of Bucklers Hard Boat Builders Ltd, who are in the process of completely stripping and refurbishing the lower interior saloon and cabins. The refurbishment will be to convert Zeeland from a 10 cabin passenger cruising pleasure craft into a stateroom with two family cabin / study rooms. Once complete she will be used as a river residence on the Thames.
Zeeland’s original design drawings were dated 1902 and her build was completed in 1923. She was initially used as a steam trawler and was one of the earlier vessels to have gas fired steam as opposed to coal fire engines. She had 32 huge gas bottles around the wheel house to fire her boilers.
During her earlier years Zeeland had many roles, working as a trawler, a whaler and a merchant vessel, and at that time she went by another name. In those days she looked very different having a fish hold and mast with derrick (a type of crane).
In World War II she was used by the French to flee Holland and was scuttled thereafter. The German Forces refloated the vessel and armed her with a gun on the foredeck.
She was later reconstructed in 1963 and fitted with what is her existing deck saloon.
In recent years Zeeland has had a more tranquil existence, being rented out as a leisure cruiser with the capacity to carry 49 day passengers and accommodate up to 28 people; with a large number of cabins, 10 showers, toilets and hand basins. She had private facilities, a day room, kitchen and bar. Fully central heated and with a sun deck.
She is now privately owned and will be a very comfortable and spacious residence once Bucklers Hard Boat Builders have completed her restoration.
